Feeding and educating a generation
As a church we are passionate about meeting needs locally and globally and the bible teaches us that mission is a huge part of God’s heart. Chifubu Ndola is a beautiful village in North Zambia. It has many children who have lost one or more parents through the HIV/AIDS pandemic. Many live with other family members or friends in the village and have little or no funds for food and education.
New Hope
Pastor Chris Mubanga and his wife Mary of New Hope Church have been endeavouring to run a feeding program for 2 - 3 days a week. Providing a bowl of shima and vegetables or beans. A few years ago they embarked on providing an education for the children, but this had to end due to no funds and provisions.
Sheffield Christian life Centre has come along side their work to help re open the school, aiding children to get an education and giving them an opportunity for a better life!
New Hope Church runs the community school for 80 deprived or orphaned children. We are helping them to relaunch the school with two teachers, each teaching a class of 40 children. Their aim for the future is to have four teachers and four classes and to change the feeding programme to 3 to 5 days a week, feeding nearly 150 children per day.
We will be running annual mission teams to the school and feeding programme, where we will be running children’s activities, helping on the feeding programme, manual maintenance on the school buildings and ministering at New Hope Church.
